Youth Activities
CHRISTIAN CHILDREN'S FELLOWSHIP (CCF)
Kindergarten - 5TH Grades
This group meets every Wednesday and is picked up at school by the church van. We finish at 5:00 PM for parent pick up at church. We do mission projects to help others, do crafts, eat snacks, study the Bible, play games and learn about our faith. We also take field trips to the park, bowling, Christmas caroling and lots of other fun times. We have a good time with our Christian faith.
CHI RHO
6TH - 8TH Grades
This middle school youth group gathers every Wednesday evening for a shared meal, Bible lessons and games. We are involved in various service projects
within our church and community. We end each week with group prayer, where everyone is welcome to lift up their concerns and joys to God.
CHRISTIAN
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP (CYF)
9th - 12th Grades
This high school youth group gathers every Wednesday afternoon. We plan a wide variety of activities, study and discussion. We gather to learn more about our journey with God. We also take fun trips out to eat, shopping, skiing, movies and more. While spending time together, we join in service projects within our church and community to do God's work.
POWERHOUSE
6th - 12th Grades
This homework hang-out room is currently open on Wednesdays after school. It will soon be equipped with computers and always has adult supervision for homework help. Youth who come, must sign in and stay in the room.
CHILDREN'S WORSHIP
This unique time of worship is for
children in Kindergarten through fifth grades. This is held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays during the school year and once
a month during the summer. Children
sing songs, discuss the Scripture read
and church and what it means for their
lives. They also have a chance to share
their prayer concerns and joys and pray together.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
This classroom times allows children
and youth a chance to learn Bible stories and explore faith on their own learning level. We have classes for all ages from Pre-School through High School (and
also for those adults who want to keep
growing in faith). Sunday School is a chance for each child to feel special and loved by teachers who share their faith.
Sundays 10:35 - 11:30 AM
SUMMER CAMPS
Summer camp is a great chance to make new friends and learn more about God and your faith. Camp Walter Scott is located near Effingham. There are a variety of camps for all ages and interests. Those who have completed 1st - 5th grades can attend Grandparents and Me Camp with a Grandparent or someone like a grandparent to the child. Youth camp is for children who have completed 3rd - 12th grades. ADDaM Camp stands for Arts, Drama, Dance and Music and is for students who have finished 8th 12th grades. They meet in a church and are housed in a college dormitory and put on a Christian musical in faith filled week.
NURTURING
CHILDREN AND YOUTH
Children and Youth at First Christian Church are cherished and loved by the adults. When a child is blessed as an infant, the congregation promises to help nurture and raise that child in the faith. We believe that it takes all of us to help each other in our faith journey. Won't you and your family join us?
